The beauty and fashion moments at the Cannes Film Festival in southern France continue to improve. Naomi Campbell won best dressed yesterday on the red carpet for vintage Chanel. But the looks off duty have been equally impressive. Anya-Taylor Joy showed us that less is more by using just a simple swipe of red lip gloss, and Selena Gomez demonstrated the power of a classic ballerina hairstyle.

Gomez, who made her debut at Cannes on May 17, strolled through the city taking photos with fans. She wore her hair in a no-fuss, effortless bun with a matching barrette. The perfectly slicked hair bun was free of flyaways, which added to the ballerina-like sophistication of her outfit.

The outfit of the Only Murders In The Building actress was reminiscent of a diplomat’s suit (for those who recall, it was a nod to her 2011 film Monte Carlo). She wore a white cardigan and matching skirt from Self Portrait, paired with cute black and white kitten heel shoes from Rodger vivier. She wore white seashell earrings and large circular sunglasses, which unfortunately covered up most of her glam. Her bag was a mini-bag with a top handle from Aspinal London.

We can guess Gomez used her usual soft-glow glam, and most likely her own Rare products. If the weather is hot (or you’re having a bad day with your hair), a simple bun can be incredibly helpful. The ballerina bun will make you look polished even if you just slick it back and toss it up on your way out.
