Tips on How to Secure a Trench Coat Belt
The trench coat, also known as the little black dress in outerwear, is a wardrobe staple that’s both stylish and practical. It’s not only a stylish, sophisticated piece that oozes It-Brit chic but also provides protection from the weather without being too hot or suffocating. The only negative? What to do with the awkward belt.
We decided to find the most stylish way to tie the front and back of the scarf.
How To Tie A Trench Coat
The Front
Don’t worry if you think you might not be able get it. The knot on the front of the trenchcoat is not fancy. It’s like tying shoelaces.

- Cross the side of belt with buckle over the side without buckle.
- Draw the long strap up and under to tighten. Allow it to hang.
- Pull the strap horizontally and loop the strap (without buckle) underneath the other.
- The loop is formed by pulling the strap away from your body.
The Back
This knot can be a little more difficult to tie, as you can see from the GIF. It is especially complicated if you are doing it behind your back. If you are not sure you can tie the knot, try it on a coat hanger.

- Under the opposite side, cross the side of belt without buckle.
- Wrap the strap over the buckle and pull it horizontally.
- The circle you have created, pull the strap with the buckle through and under the circle.
- The loop will be formed when you pull the strap through.
- Tie the knot, then let it hang.
