Affordable Dupes For High End Cosmetics

This post contains affiliate links. For more information, please view my full disclosure policy.

This post is one of a kind! We’re testing out a full face of drugstore makeup alternatives! I apply all the high-end makeup to one side and all the drugstore products to my other side. After about six hours, I check back to see how the makeup wears.

This video is longer than my usual beauty videos because we are going to compare products in great detail! I compare formulas, shades and consistency. Even how they performed. I hope you enjoy this!

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and NYX Angel Veil Primer ($54.00 vs. $15.00) // The NYX primer has a slightly thicker consistency than Hourglass but smoothes the skin almost identically.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick vs. Wet ‘n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation Stick // $46,00 vs. $5,99 // Guys, it’s so close to a dupe that I can’t believe it! It’s consistency, finish, wear-ability, everything! You can read my Hourglass Foundation Dupe post for more details.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer vs. e.l.f. Cosmetics 16HR Camo Concealer// $ 27.00 vs. $5.00 // I’ve stopped wearing Shape Tape concealer around my eyes, and have switched to Too Faced Born This Way multi-use sculpting concealer. But I was very interested in the new e.l.f. It’s been a hot topic lately. It’s almost identical to Shape Tape but I might even say I like it better. It feels less drying to me for some reason. It’s a steal at $6!

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder Loose vs. Maybelline Finishing Powder Loose // $39.00 vs. $9.99 // I’ve told you guys many times how much I love the Maybelline loose powder. It is my holy grail. It is similar to Laura Mercier, in that it achieves the same thing. However, it’s less dry. This is my favorite over the Laura Mercier.

Anastasia Brow Wiz vs. L’Oreal Brow Styler Definer // $11.00 vs. $7.99 // I did a blog post on another Anastasia Brow Wiz Dupe a few years ago, but so many other drugstore brow pencils are now available! This L’Oreal eyebrow pencil is also a perfect dupe. All of these are great. Today I used the L’Oreal pen because I already had it. Now that I have so many drugstore alternatives, I can’t see why anyone would buy the brow wiz.

This bronzer was duped in my previous Full Face of Makeup Dupes Video, but it is harder to find these days. The new Maybelline Bronzer is similar to the Chocolate Soleil, even down to the size and shape of the pan. I can tell that the tone in the pan is a little different, but it’s not noticeable on my face.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and Profusion Mixed Metals Palette // $54.00 to $9.99 // This may seem like a stretch but listen up. I was able dupe four shades from the Naked Heat Palette. We’re talking about identical shades. There are fewer shades in the Profusion Palette, but if you can duplicate a large portion of it, I think that’s a great drugstore alternative. The pigmentation is less intense in the Profusion palette and it takes a bit more time to build them up. However, I can create a similar eye look. What do you think about this?

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara vs. the Cover Girl Exhibitionist Mascara ($24.00 vs. $11.99 // Many people say that L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise Mascara is a direct dupe of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I found an better copy! Cover Girl’s newer mascara is so good. The Too Faced brush is the same as this one, but it has less flaking. (The L’Oreal mascara is notorious for flaking). This foundation (as well as the Wet n Wild) is a must-try if you want to try anything else from this post! !

Benefit Dandelion Blush and L’Oreal’s True Match Blush C1-2 // 30 vs. 11.99 $ // Benefit dandelion blush is a baby pink blush with a subtle glow. This L’Oreal copy is spot-on, and it comes with a larger amount of product. Win, win.

Ofra Cosmetics Rodeo Drive Eyeshadow vs. Maybelline Professional Wear Eyeshadow in The Glo Down. // $29.00 vs. $1.99 // I’m amazed that I could dupe an expensive highlighter using an eyeshadow. This still baffles me. The formulas are not exactly identical. You need to build the Maybelline eyeshadow up. And the Ofra highlights is more white gold. (Maybelline is more gold toned). The differences are so small that I still consider the Maybelline Eyeshadow to be a winner!

Persona Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick Nudist vs. L’Oreal Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick Nudist // 16.00 vs. $9.90 // The difference is only $7, so the savings is not huge. I’ll also admit that I love the Persona lip gloss so much, I am likely to continue purchasing it. If you like the color and are looking for something similar at a drugstore, then you should definitely check out L’Oreal’s lipstick. As you can see in the video, this lipstick lasted much longer. This doesn’t mean that the product is superior, but it is useful to know in case I want to wear this to an event and want it to last longer.
