Who Rocked the Red Carpet? A Look at the Best Met Gala 2024 Beauty Moments

Met Gala is back on the first Monday of May. We look forward to seeing our favorite celebrities walk the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in outfits inspired by the theme of the evening. The dress code for 2024 is “The Garden of Time”, a reference to the Costume Institute’s new exhibition “Sleeping Beauties – Reawakening Fashion”.

Every star attendee will be wearing extravagant and show-stopping outfits to commemorate Fashion’s Biggest night. We’ll be watching them closely throughout the evening to see how their beauty looks compare. Find the best beauty looks for the Met Gala in 2024, from standout hair moments and mesmerizing touches of makeup.

Zendaya

We knew that Zendaya, as one of the co-chairs of tonight’s Met Gala Gala, would give us a look to remember. She did. This makeup looks is mesmerizing with its intense eyeshadow and glossy dark lips.

Ursula Stephen used Dyson’s Supersonic Professional Hairdryer, the Supersonic R Professional Hairdryer, and Living Proof’s Triple Bond Complex to style Zendaya’s hair.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez gives us an ethereal and fairy-like vibe. From her loose, textured hairstyle to her shimmering, sunset-inspired, eyeshadow, every detail is intentional.

Lorenzo Martin is responsible for Lopez’s effortless hair bun. He used several key products to create the look, including Tresemme Mega Control hair gel ($7), Shark FlexStyle (350) and Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Styling ($17).

Gigi hadid

Gigi’s glam is old Hollywood glamour, from her hairstyle to her makeup. Her high-shine lipstick, rosy lips, and bouncy hair have us smitten.

You can achieve her entire makeup look using Maybelline New York’s products. To get her lip color, use the Super Stay Vinyl Ink Red-Hot & Wicked. Use the Sunkisser Liquid Blush and Bronzer ($12), Uptown Glow, and Cheek Heat Gel Cream Blush ($8) to recreate her baby-pink cheeks.

Laura Polko created Hadid’s Marilyn Monroe-inspired Bob using Joico products. Polko claims that the brand’s Defy damage KBOND20 power masque ($35) is the main product.

Maleah Joi Moon

Maleah Moon’s perfectly sculpted, sleek hairstyle caught our attention immediately. Monae Everett, a NYC-based hairstylist, brought the look alive using Curls Blueberry Bliss Repair & Grow Sculpting mousse ($16) as well as the Denman Brush Original 9 Row Styler (both $26).

Ayo Ayo Edebiri

Blush can add a fun pop of color to any makeup look. This is what Ayo’s Met Gala makeup did. Her cheeks were a vibrant pink. Dana Delaney, a celebrity makeup artist, used Color Haze Multi Use Pigment in Sing and Ilia Multi Stick in A Fine Romance to create her rosy cheeks.

Miles Jeffries, a hairstylist from New York City, created Edebiri’s gorgeous updo. It even included a floral headpiece. He used Maui Moisture styling tools, such as the Frizz Free + Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Mist ($10), and Olivia Garden styling products, including the Ceramic + Ion Flat Iron ($110).

Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain embraces her gothic side. Her intense, smoky eye makeup is a perfect match for her lacy black dress. Kelsey Deenihan, a celebrity makeup artist, used Lancome Hypnose 5 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Beige Brule ($65) and Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear eyeliner in Cafe Noir ($25). Sami Knight, a hairstylist using Emi Jay tools and products, slicked her hair into a bun decorated with lace.

Ashley Graham

Ashley Graham wore an elegant, edgy look to the Met Gala. Justine Marjan’s stylist Justine Graham used Nutrafol Hair Serum ($69), to prepare the model’s hair.

Graham kept the rest of her glam minimal. ZO Skin Health products and Revlon are responsible for her dewy, glowing skin. Ivan Nunez was Graham’s makeup designer. He prepped her face with Exfoliating Cleanser (49 dollars), Exfoliating Polish (68 dollars), Complexion Renewal Pads (59) and Illuminating AX Serum (178).

Nunez used Revlon essentials to achieve her glowing complexion. These included the Illuminance Serum Tint (19 dollars), ColorStay SkinAwakening 5-in-1 Concealer (13 dollars), SkinLights Highlighter ($11) and SkinLights Bronzer ($14).

Gwendoline Christopher

Gwendoline chow brought glamour to the Met Gala. All eyes will be on Christie’s blonde sculptural hairdo. This is a true work of art.

Danielle Kolaric achieved her doll-like skin by using Pat McGrath Labs products such as the Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation (69 dollars) and Skin Fetish Highlighter + Balm Duo (50 dollars).

Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling’s retro, flippy bob is a great example of this. Richard Grant, Kaling’s stylist, prepared her hair using Tresemme products, such as the Keratin Smooth weightless leave-in conditioner ($7) and Heat Protectant spray ($8). Grant used Shark FlexStyle ($350) for styling.

Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall’s body was used as a canvas. The handpainted flowers that adorned her arms were the stars of the show. Her minimal makeup, slicked back hair and minimal make-up made the most of it.

Joanna Czech products are responsible for her dewy and hydrated skin, such as The Soothing Serum (275 dollars), The C+ Serum (340 dollars), The Cream ($210), The Balm(230 dollars), The Toner(55 bucks), and The Face Mask (30 bucks).

Tyla

Tyla is known for her hair, which she changes constantly. The singer chose a short, textured haircut with a matte finish. She chose a warm, bronzy makeup.

Pat McGrath Labs is responsible for her glow. Some of the products she used included Divine Cream Blush Legendary Glow Colour Balm ($29), Skin Fetish – Highlighter + Balm duo ($50) Bronze and Skin Fetish – Divine Blush ($39).

Emily Ratajkowski’s spiky bun is a modern take on the Y2K trend. The front pieces are sleek and balance out the bold look.

Marcello Gutierrez was responsible for the neutral makeup of the model. Gutierrez used Charlotte Tilbury’s products, and specifically the Lip Cheat ($25), in Foxy Brown. Lipstick ($35), in Penelope Pink and Collagen Lip Bath Lip Gloss in Refresh rose ($35), were used to create her glossy lips.

Dove Cameron

Dove Cameron uses rose as her makeup palette. The perfect combination is a bright red lip with subtle rosy cheeks. Cameron’s makeup artists used Danucera to prepare her skin for Beautyblender Bounce Always on Radiant Skin Tint and Boost Firming & Smoothing Peptide Primer.

Keke Palmer is the one to do it. She has a unique take on a ponytail. Her cascading, towering ponytail is stunning.

Her golden glam looks equally stunning. Kenya Alexis used some of Milk Makeup’s bestsellers to create Palmer’s look. Her kit contained the Hydro Grip Primer (38 dollars), Hydro Grip Eyeshadow Primer (25 dollars), Matte Bronzer in Blaze ($24), and Cooling Water Jelly Tint in Burst ($24).

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning’s hair and makeup are minimalistic, effortless and natural. Her hair is soft and natural, with soft waves.

Erin Ayanian Monroe’s makeup artist prepared Fanning’s glistening face with L’oreal Paris’s Revitalift derm intensives Micro Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides Line Plumping Water Cream ($20). Ayanian Monroe applied the True Match Super Blendable foundation ($10), True Match Radiant Concealer ($19), True Match Super Blendable blush ($13) and True Match Lumi Glotion in 901 to the actress’s base makeup.

Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo has two elements that stand out in her makeup: hot pink eyeshadow and spidery lashes. Both are a big hit with us.

Sam Fine, a celebrity makeup artist, used Haus Labs products to create the actress’s look. He used Triclone Skin Tech foundation ($45) and Triclone Skin Tech concealer ($32) to achieve her complexion. Fine added shimmer to Erivo’s skin with the Bio-Radiant gel-powder highlighter ($40), in Bronzite or Raw Amber.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande looks angelic. The wings on Ariana Grande’s face enhance the ethereal and fairy-like quality of her beauty and fashion look. Michael Anthony, a makeup artist, used only r.e.m. To create this dreamy look, Michael Anthony used all r.e.m. Highlights include the Hypernova Matte Blush in Pinking of You ($20), the Practically Permanent Lip Stain Marker in Booked n’ Busy ($17), and the Dream Lashes in Eternally Mewing ($16).

Serena Williams

Serena Williams looks like a goddess of gold tonight. She’s wearing a full WYN beauty face, including the Word of Mouth Max Comfort Matte Lipstick in Explain ($20). Renny Vasquez, her makeup artist, finished the look with a pair of Kiss $8 lashes.

The spikey hair trend is a big one tonight. Charli XCX’s edgy hairstyle is another great example. Isamaya Ffrench, a makeup artist who uses MAC, created her gothic glam lips.

Lana Del Ray

Forest Queen is giving off a forest-like vibe. This look is earthy because of all the brown shades, from her lip gloss to hair. Etienne Ortega used Charlotte Tilbury products on Lana’s eyes and face, including the Magic Cream (100 dollars), Beautiful Skin Foundation (49 dollars), and Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette (60.00). Ortega used only his eponymous lip line for her lips. He prepped them with Blu Nectar Lip Oil and applied Soft Contour Lip Liner in Cinnamon Girl ($16), followed by Agave Glow Color Stick in Petals ($22).

Doja Cat

Doja Cat is always up for a surprise with her makeup. The glitter tears on her cheeks and the slanted, thin brows look so cool. Pat McGrath was the designer behind this look. “We used glitter paint to create shimmering, enchanted, tears of joy flowing down her cheeks,” she says.

We created the most stunning gilded cats eyes on her lids using black liquid liner and lots of mascara. The warm, scintillating colors in my Mothership 5: Bronze Seduction palette were also used. She looks amazing!”

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner has a pared-back look. Her natural makeup and slicked back bun are timeless, elegant choices. Ariel Tejada is her long-time makeup artist. She gave her a glowing beat that heavily featured her new Kylie Cosmetics powder blush stick ($26) Meet Me There.

Cardi B’s makeup shines through with her hair hidden in a tulle headwrap. Erika La’Pearl, using NYX Professional makeup, created her eyeshadow with hints of green to play off her dazzling jewelry.

Kaia Gerber’s blowout resembles her mother’s signature style from the 1990s. Do you not believe us? “Cindy Crawford’s hair was an inspiration to Kaia,” says Jenna Perry. She used Olaplex for the “bombshell brown” shade.

I used the Olaplex 4-in-1 moisture mask to create a glossy, rich finish. I used Olaplex Bonding Oil No.7 to get the glossy rich look, and to protect and prepare Kaia’s locks for Met Day heat styling and heat protection.

Taraji P. H.’s hair is a floral masterwork. The pink flowers and hairpins, created by TYM using TPH by Taraji by TYM Wallace, take her already glamorous bun up a notch. Saisha beechman, a makeup artist, used Danessa myricks beauty products to create her pink glam.

Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney made a dramatic change to her hairstyle at the Met Gala. It’s a beautiful, bold look. Melissa Hernandez, her MUA, chose a soft glam look with lots of body glitter.

She says, “The contrast of Sydney’s Miu Miu custom gown with its black gloves and blue tulle inspired me to create an edgy look that was also feminine and ethereal.” We created a romantic, bubble-gum blush of color using the new Armani Beauty Cheek Tint (39 dollars), which was the perfect contrast for the black details in her outfit.

Sabrina Carpenter has a very sophisticated look with her frosty eyeshadow and softly blushed lips. Her blonde cascading hair is equally sophisticated. Carolina Gonzalez, her makeup artist, says that the inspiration for today’s look was “delicately fierce” and glowing skin.
