Selena Gomez has had a busy awards season, and it’s only been two weeks. She started the season off at the Golden Globes where she wore a bright red dress and an edgy, patent leather manicure. The icon will keep her edgy streak from her hair down to her fingertips at the Emmys in 2024.
Gomez, whose hit TV series Only Murders in the Building received a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as its lead actor, Martin Short was also nominated, attended the big night along with her newly-launched boyfriend Benny Blanco and her favorite nail artist Tom Bachik.

Gomez’s black cherry manicure, which Bachik described as “Gotham Glam”, matched perfectly with her plum-red lip.
Bachik explained that the “shape” was crucial to keeping the dark color in focus. They chose “a natural oval-shaped strong nail that complements the pattern on the dress.”

He then had to paint a cherry color, which was completely custom. He said he “started by applying a thin layer of PLA Black Gel Liner, followed by a coat PLA You Can’t Say Anyone, which is a rich dark purple. “
But that’s not all. To create the dark cherry color, he used a small brush dipped in red chrome powder. He then “mixed the chrome into wet gel polish, starting at the center, and blended it to the sides,” before applying a high-shine top coat to each nail. Rare Beauty’s Find Comfort Hydrating hand cream was also applied “for a bit of pampering” prior to Gomez’s big night on TV.
