Relive the 2010s Glamour: 8 Fashion Trends Making a Bold Comeback

We’ll see a lot of new fashion trends in 2024. From parlor style to red shoes, they will be everywhere. One of the biggest fashion trends this year, if you’re a fan of nostalgia, is the return to 2010s style. We think it’s better than ever and can’t help but be excited to see what the new 2020s will bring. The 2010s were a decade of bold colors, creative silhouettes and unapologetic statement-making. From Rihanna, Paris Hilton and Bella Hadid to so many other A-listers. You’ll love the fact that so many of the motifs from the 2010s are returning. If the idea makes you uncomfortable, just know that they feel new and not cringey. Scroll down to see the eight top fashion trends from 2010s that are coming back in this season. We’ve also included our favorite shopping choices.

The 2010s are defined by the fashion that was created after the Y2K revolution. But what really made the decade special is that people were not afraid to experiment. Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita platform boot (sorry they are sticking around in 2010) is still a mainstay, as are peplum tops and high-end dad shoes. The 2010s were a decade of hipster and athleisure fashion. You may have been searching for the trucker cap you saw on your favorite celebrity in a tabloid, if you hadn’t saved up to buy a designer bag with a logo.

In 2024 we will see some of the most popular trends from 2010 return. This is to maintain a fresh look after several years of dominance in the early 2000s. This time they are newer and better: you don’t have to recreate those bold but dated looks that were buried deep within your Instagram grid. Scroll down to see eight 2010s fashion trends that are making a comeback in the new season. You’ll also learn how to recreate these looks for the modern age.

Crop Tops

The crop top has been popular since the 1960s (and it never went away), but they didn’t really become mainstream until the 2010. We think that a good crop top will make you look unstoppable. They need to be worn with the right style and occasion, but we also believe they can work for any occasion. We’re not planning to get rid of our crop-top collections anytime soon, whether you pair it with low-rise denims to show lots of midriff. Or if you want a more subtle look by pairing high-waisted pants.

Heart Necklaces

Statement necklaces were the leading trend of the 2010s, and while we don’t foresee the look hitting the same level this year, we do think we’ll see some statement necklaces–specifically in the shape of hearts. The sweet heart-shaped trend was loved by celebrities everywhere, and it is a great way to spice up any outfit.

Skinny Jeans

Oh, skinny jeans. You either love or hate them. We’re willing bet that if you are a trend follower, you probably tossed out your skinny jeans years ago. So take this as a reminder to keep all your old clothes. This silhouette will likely make a return in the future, though it may be styled differently. Instead of baggy tees or Chelsea boots, think button-downs.

Luxe Athleisure

Although we love to dress up for a night out, nothing is better than feeling comfortable. Athleisure is making a big comeback, but it’s a lot more luxe than the old sweatpants. Instead of wearing ratty tees and sweatpants, people are now opting for matching sets, tracksuits and high-quality materials. It’s hard to beat the effortless, yet stylish feeling.

Trucker Caps

The trucker hat is a trend that has resurfaced from the 2010s. It was a Y2K favorite that made its way into the 2010s. For a while, it was hidden in the backs of our closets. But now, it is back. It’s the perfect accessory for a bad hairday. You can wear it with any outfit, whether you prefer casual or streetwear chic.

In the 2010s, designer fashion became a huge hit with the masses. Everyone wanted to show off their expensive pieces. Logos, the opposite of quiet luxury are returning, but not in the way that you might think. Although high-end designers are likely to be the frontrunners, we believe that many brands will also offer their own take on this trend.

Reimagined Peplum

Peplums are making a big comeback. While they’re not the same styles as in 2012, there will be some silhouettes that look like peplums. Today’s peplum, instead of being a dramatic piece with a flared edge, is more subtle. We are actually quite obsessed.

Dad Shoes

The chunky dad shoes are also making a big comeback. The chunky dad sneakers were popular in the 1990s and early 2010s. Now, they are here to stay. The dad shoe, once considered a nerdy style, is now a versatile and comfortable sneaker that will get you lots compliments.
