The stripe pattern consists repeating patterns of evenly sized lines with different colors that are located adjacent with one another. The stripe pattern is usually seen in the road, food and clothing. For many centuries, stripes have been used in clothing. Clothes with vertical stripes create a slimmer silhouette while clothes with horizontal stripes create a wider silhouette. On the other hand, this design is incorporated into food to make it look more attractive, such is the case of a candy cane. In addition to that, stripes catch the attention of many people and that is why it is used as signal hazards, like road signs and in the barricade tape of the police.
