Cotton blend is a fabric blend that contains cotton mixed with other types of fabric like linen, polyester, and rayon. A standard cotton blend contains about 80% cotton and 20% other fabrics. This is done because the addition of other types of fabric to cotton makes it more breathable, stronger and appealing than fabric that is 100% cotton. Linen is usually added to cotton to make it more breathable and cooler to the skin. On the other hand, polyester and rayon are added to cotton to improve its texture and shine. Cotton blend fabrics are usually employed in the manufacture of shirts, collared shirts, suits and long sleeves.
