Ingredients:

  • Coffee (ground)
  • Nourishing oil that suits you
  • Sugar brown/white
  • Sea salt
  • Epsom
  • Essential oil to add some aroma to it.

Note: One cup of coffee would be enough for about 4 to 5 days. You can increase or decrease the quantity. All other ingredients should be added in a small amount accordingly.

Method:

Mix the coffee and sugar well to combine them evenly. Next step is to add salts and essential oil in it and mix it well. Now pour in your favorite nourishing oil in the mixture. Make sure, you are not pouring excessive oil. It may turn your skin extremely greasy or the grainy texture of the scrub (because of sugar) can also be diminished. If that happens, there is no use of it (exfoliation is useless without a grainy scrub). Now take a small amount of the mixture on your hands and start to exfoliate. Starting from your face, come down to the neck. Gently rub in circulated motions. Doing that for a few secs, now rinse the scrub off with warm water and pat dry the skin (never rub your skin with a towel). Even after washing the face, if you feel like having an oily feel, don’t worry, as the time passes, the remaining oil gets absorbed in the skin.

What about Body ?

This exfoliating scrub is not just for your face, you can freely apply it on the affected areas of your body, including rough heels, elbows and knees. [Read here: How to Look Younger]

How much should I Use?

In the beginning, using for 2 to 3 times is suggested. If it suits your skin and you get the desired results, extend the use to 5 days a week maximum. Stop using and replace some harsh ingredients (if any) if you experience tingling or irritation on skin.

How to Store DIY Face and Body Scrub?

Storing these homemade scrubs are always an issue. We would recommend you to prepare a scrub enough for 4 to 5 days only. Once it’s finished, opt for more. This can be stored in an air tight jar in room temperature (for 4 to 5 days). Or if you are going to use it for a longer period of time, storing it in refrigerator is the right option.

Conclusion: Exposure to heat and pollution these days, have increased the risks for our skin. Significance of coffee to fight all the skin-related issues (dark circles, puffiness, redness, aging lines, black spots) cannot be denied. Try to add these coffee face scrubs in your daily beauty regimen to avoid an early aging.
